MY WHY
NOBODY SHOULD LOOK UNPROFESSIONAL JUST BECAUSE THEY'RE STARTING SMALL.
I grew up in Jackson, Mississippi. Where I'm from, marketing and branding resources were hard to come by. Professional printing, websites and design cost more than most people starting out could afford, and there weren't many people around who could help.
I didn't have much money, but I wanted to build something. So I taught myself graphic design and website design on YouTube, built my first sites on Wix, and started offering my services to everyone I could in my city.
That hustle turned into a career. I've worked in sales, media, entertainment, sports and e-commerce. I've led marketing for corporations, professional athletes, celebrities and films, and helped scale companies into the tens and hundreds of millions. Today I also serve as CMO of Blackground Records 2.0.
Mike Builds Brands is how I bring all of that back to the people I started with: dreamers with real skills and real ideas. I keep prices affordable on purpose so nobody gets priced out, and I keep the quality high because that's what 20 years in this game taught me.
